This week I am being invade by lots of Germans! On Friday my good friends from Berlin came for a three day visit and tomorrow my brother and family will be invading my home for two nights.

With so much coming and going I need to be a little bit careful with my time, after all Masters does not write itself and I have to have 12.000 words done by next week Tuesday.

But of course I wanted to show my friends some of the wonderful things Ireland has to offer so I took them on a trip to Newgrange. This Stone Age passage tomb is older than the pyramids, by about 500years, and sits on top of a hill in the Boyne Valley.

It was  beautiful sunny day and Newgrange was showing itself in its best possible light. And while you can enter into the tom, it is a tight squeeze and you have to be to not hit your head. But once you’re inside you get to enjoy the fascinating cross camber at the end of the passage and stand where our ancestors did, we don’t know what, 5200 years ago.
