I’ve been in Berlin for a week now and I still have so much left to see. I haven’t made it out to Potsdam, the Wannsee or even to Charlottenburg yet. And my lofty plans of writing everyday have fallen a little by the wayside as I have been so much time outdoors wandering around and enjoying the fabulous weather.

Yesterday I took a  stroll around Friedrichshain, along the East Side Gallery, up the Warschauer Strasse to the Box Hagerner Platz and then down the Karl-Marx-Allee. All the time the hot German sun cooking me slowly on the asphalt, and although my cleavage suffered a little, half of it got burnt (yes I know half how did that happen? Suncream and all!) my legs are still a glowing white, refusing to even turn a pale shade of beige.

So while I am still trying to obtain that healthy summer glow here are a few photos I took on my walk around former East Berlin. Sadly you will have to imagine the sweet, heavy smell of all the Lime Trees (not the fruit baring kind) lining the streets, a constant summing of insects hidden in the blossoms and the pale yellow snow of petals falling down.
