I have no idea where the time went today. But at least I picked up my pencils again after many many years of neglecting my inner artist. And since all i did was do a few sketching exercises I don’t have much to show. But here you are my first attempts at drawing, so be gentle with any critique. And I promise to practise!

I’m surprised that no one’s mentioned yet that the sublime beauty of the spatial relationships spatially undermines the inherent overspecificity. Translation: those drawings look good, all mine look like stick men and women and they never have any clothes. What would Freud say?
There is something liberating about drawing. As Picasso once said: The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.

Concentrating on spatial relationships (where this line goes in relationship to that line)
and moving into the right side of the brain…is for me…quiet moments captured…freedom from all but for the movements from hand, eye…and back again.

See, just like riding a bike! (I’m not bold enough to post my life class drawings though) Can I recommend ‘The Artists Way’ by Julia Cameron, for getting folk out of the comfort zone and into a little creativity. In fact I’m going to dust down my copy right now.

hi ..hasnt finished yet..hopefully in May……..but overall my life is good..cant wait for the summer though only then I have time for painting, photography, etc…. ps. thinking of taking a diploma in photography next year :))…
