The sun has found it’s way back to Dublin and since yesterday afternoon clear blue skies and warm spring sunshine has been mocking my cold. But while my nose dribbles and glows a vibrant red I must say my spirits have been lifted by the return of spring.
And because the new rays of sun have given me an infusion of energy I decided to make good on a promise I made to myself at the beginning of the year.
For a while now I have been thinking about getting back into drawing and painting. As a child and teenager it was my favourite pass-time but over the years other things have taken over my time and my scribblings have turned into blank pages. But every now and then I feel the urge to create, get my hands painty and attack a canvas with my arty attempts.
Because I wanted to do new and more things this year I decided to give art classes a try, however time flies by and all I have to show for my ambitions are a few new paint brushes. So this morning I decided to turn thoughts into actions and I found myself an accessible art class and next Friday I’ll drop down and try it out for the first time.
I am quite excited about this and can’t wait to let my inner artist out to fingerprint. Who knows maybe I will even not be as bad as I think I am, which will hopefully motivate me to keep it up.
enjoy your creations!
I will …well i hope I will I may be awful
I love drawing and painting, I’m always doodling on a piece of paper and have tons of canvass and paint all over the house. Good luck with it.
thanks … yes work and all that kind of took over and I just wrote more but now I have itchy fingers and hope I won;t fail miserably
You can’t fail with art, it’s subjective.
Good for you. I hope you will be sharing some of your creations and remember, they don’t have to be perfect. I’m hoping for some sunshine today.
sending you some of ours … and yes I will share the good, the bad and the ugly
Sound like fun…What kind ..not that I know a lot about painting but scenes…or designs and abstract… ‘boy did that sound like I know something’..NOT…. Diane
I will let you know when I get somewhere 🙂
My art teacher once told me that I wasn’t very good at painting. She was right. I’m not. It has never stopped me doing it though – because I enjoy it. Don’t let any perceived lack of talent stop you from pursuing a hobby like art. Just have fun with it 🙂
Here we are!!!! Artists two! Good for you Missy J…you’ll have to share your project(s)…like I do. And…it doesn’t matter if you think it is good or not good…it is the art/act of doing that makes it…..
Raye
